Important Program Requirements: In addition to their coursework requirements, doctoral students are required to complete both a first year and second year paper.
Plan of Study Guidance: The Graduate College of Oklahoma State University requires all doctoral students to file a plan of study prior to completing their third semester. The degree requirements for the Marketing Ph.D. program are discussed on our Academic Program page. It is highly recommended to use our plan of study Excel worksheet.
Conference Travel: Doctoral students are provided with generous funding for travel to national marketing academic conferences.
Awards and Recognition: Doctoral students that maintain high academic standing and demonstrate strong research productivity and potential can receive recognition and awards.
Academic Placement: The doctoral program in Marketing in the Watson Graduate Management school is designed to prepare students for faculty positions at research oriented Universities in the United States and around the World. Students apply for jobs after they have successfully defended their dissertation proposal. In marketing, our main job market takes place at the American Marketing Association Summer Educator’s Conference held annually in early August. Universities and colleges looking to hire marketing faculty will post jobs openings prior to the conference. The below links show the application pattern for the field and some of schools that our Ph.D. Alumni have placed.
