Doctorate in Business Administration option in Management

The management Ph.D. option in business administration has the flexibility to structure programs based on your individual interests. You can choose organizational behavior or strategic management. Training in research methods emphasizes research design and quantitative methods. The Ph.D. program offers the opportunity to work closely with faculty members who are nationally and internationally recognized for professional and scholarly accomplishment. The OSU Ph.D. program is rigorous and selection is limited to well-qualified individuals, which allows us to create an environment necessary for the successful training of our Ph.D. students.

Curriculum

Students take classes for the first two years of the program followed by comprehensive exams. In the third or fourth year students prepare and defend a dissertation proposal. The dissertation is typically defended in the fifth year of the program. Students continue to work as research assistants throughout the program and will teach a small number of classes.

  • 15 hours of coursework will be chosen by the student in conjunction with a faculty committee to support the individual student’s specific interests and needs.
