Spears School Professional Development Fee
Degree candidates in the Spears School of Business enrolled on the Stillwater or Tulsa campus are assessed a professional development fee of $250.00 each spring and fall semester. Details about services the fee provides are available on the Graduate Career Services page.
The MBA program has a limited number of graduate teaching assistantships (GTA) for fulltime students on the Stillwater and Tulsa campuses. Applicants should indicate their interest on the Program application. The determining factor is the GMAT score; because the selection process is highly competitive, students with high scores may be offered an assistantship depending on the availability of positions.
Students for whom English is not their first language must meet minimum TOEFL/IELTS speaking scores to be eligible for GTA awards. For details, please see http://gradcollege.okstate.edu/content/application-process-0, and click the International Applicants tab.
Scholarship monies are available to fulltime students. Scholarship forms can be submitted at any time; however, completed forms are only reviewed for awards during the summer, and monies are distributed to begin with the fall semester.
Recipients are often selected on the basis of demonstrated academic achievement, managerial experience and managerial potential. Many of the scholarships are funded by corporations or private donors and require applicants to meet specific requirements to qualify for consideration.
The Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (CIE) Scholars Program is a distinguished initiative developed to recognize and engage the top students enrolled in the MBA Program at the Spears School of Business. Each year, up to ten outstanding students are selected based on an application and interview process. Selected individuals will receive a $2000 scholarship awarded in the fall semester. Selection criteria will include previous academic performance and achievements, leadership experiences, extra-curricular or community engagement activity, and unique life accomplishments. Students with academic interests in any aspect of business (e.g., accounting, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, human resources, marketing, general management, management information systems, strategy, supply chain management) are welcome to apply.
The MBA Program has a limited number of scholarships available for domestic full-time MBA students on the Stillwater campus and these are awarded each September. Recipients are often selected on the basis of demonstrated academic achievement, managerial experience and managerial potential. Many of the scholarships are funded by corporations or private donors and require applicants to meet specific requirements to qualify for consideration. Information and applications for individual scholarships are available after the start of the fall semester.
Most student loans are based on either financial need or creditworthiness and are available only to US citizens and permanent residents. Eligible OSU graduate students can receive Subsidized Direct Loans, Unsubsidized Direct Loans, Federal Perkins Loans, and Federal Work-Study. Graduate students are not eligible for Pell Grants.
For financial aid purposes, OSU graduate students carrying nine or more hours that are required for their degree during the fall and spring semesters are considered full-time; graduate students carrying 4-7 credit hours that are required for their degree are considered half-time. Graduate students carrying three credit hours or less in the fall or spring semesters are not eligible to receive Subsidized or Unsubsidized Direct Loans.
Domestic students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The deadlines for submission of this form vary by state. The Institutional Code for OSU is 003170.
